Music of the Spheres
Music of the Spheres is a collaboration between UK artist Charlotte Jarvis, scientist Dr. Nick Goldman and classical musicians The Kreutzer Quartet. Music of the Spheres used bioinformatics technology developed Nick at the European Bioinformatics Institute in 2012 to encode a musical recording onto DNA for the first time. The DNA has been suspended in soap solution and used by Charlotte to create performances and installations filled with bubbles. The ‘recording’ fills the air, pops on visitors’ skin and literally bathes the audience in music.
